Outpatient Services specifically designed for children and adolescents.

HCS understands the unique needs of children and their families. That’s why we work to offer a wide variety of services specifically designed to meet those needs. One way we do so is through our Outpatient Services for Children and Adolescents. These offerings are meant for those whose behavioral, emotional, or substance abuse challenges have become significant but do not warrant hospitalization. These are short-term interventions that result in long-term impact.

The assistance that we provide is accomplished through individual and/or group therapy plans, which are tailored to meet your child’s unique needs and may include any number of the following specialties:

Play Therapy
Play therapy focuses on a child’s need to express themselves through the use of play and toys. In play therapy, children have access to a variety of things like art supplies, sand and sand toys, storytelling aids, and toys for dramatic and fantasy play through which they recreate the emotional experiences they are struggling with internally. Our trained therapists provide a safe and understanding environment that encourages the child to develop skills that promote healing.

Art Therapy
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Therapists utilize the process of creating to assist children and adolescents in building self-esteem, expressing feelings in more positive ways, and promoting well-being in a supportive and understanding environment.

Autism Services
HCS has worked to set the standard for development of services specific to those on the Autism Spectrum. Sensory issues, communication deficits, language acquisition, social development, parent inclusion, and parent education are all elements of services that have been incorporated into Outpatient Services.

Substance Abuse Services
Substance abuse treatment services are provided for adolescents and their families in a supportive and challenging environment. A variety of tracts are available to best accommodate the clinical needs of those served, including those involved in the criminal justice system. More About Outpatient Substance Abuse Services →
