Virginia Disaster Assistance Team
VDAT is a team of local community members, trained as outreach specialists, working to help others following the recent disaster that affected our area. The mission of VDAT is to assist the community in recovering from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene by linking survivors with referrals and resources, offering emotional support, building connections within the community, and providing educational support.
Our goal is to meet you where you are; at home or in the community. VDAT team members will be coming door-to-door, attending community gatherings/events, and planning additional events to help bring people together. This is a grant-funded program that gives us the opportunity to play a role in the healing and rebuilding that is already taking place.
